Well...heck, I'd recommend Rocketship Galileo (private flight to the Moon), The Man Who Sold the Moon (collection, private flight to the Moon), Rolling Stones (private ship around the solar system)...and dozens more. Honestly, the only stuff by RAH I don't like are some of the late books (To Sail Beyond the Sunset). Any of his YA books are good. The Moon is a Harsh Mistress is excellent. Stay away from "For Us, The Living", though. It was his first (unpublished until recently) novel.

On the movie front, might I recommend "Destination Moon", about a (you guessed it!) private flight to the Moon?

I second Fred's recommendation of The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. Time to do some book shopping.
