SpaceX is gearing up for a launch of the Falcon 1 as early as Monday (U.S. time) and has posted an update and two cool videos of a static fire test performed on Thursday (U.S. time).
The first video is a wide shot in widescreen mode and has "HD" in the file name. However, the video has a resolution of only 720x480 at 30 frames per second. The HD tag leads me to believe that the video camera is high definition, but the video has been cut down to 720x480 for web consumption. All of us have monitors that could take advantage of higher resolution than 720x480, so it would be great to see higher definition video.
The second video is a close-up high speed shot, and has a resolution of 640x480. It appears that the video was shot at 120 or 210 frames per second and is shown in slow motion at 30 frames per second.
Here's to a successful launch next week!
